Finishing Schools

The need for finishing schools in India does not need to be emphasized or explained in detail. Both the students as well as the IT companies are painfully aware of the gap between what the educational institutions are producing and what the industry needs. Finishing schools are expected to take care of these technical and soft skill gaps and make the students adequately competent to take on assignments in the IT industry.

Technical Skills

iCalibrator Finishing Schools will offer the following courses initially,

Java Programming (24 weeks)
Unix Systems Administration (24 weeks)

In all its courses, iCalibrator lay emphasizes on the proper understanding of a few concepts and its application, rather than just exposing the student to many different things. The iCalibrator approach enables the students to read and learn new concepts on their own.

Soft Skills

Along with core technical modules the Finishing School will train the students on the following:

Verbal Communication Skills
Reading Comprehension
Written Communication Skills
Interview and Group Discussion Skills
Soft Skills like Public Speaking & Delivery of Technical Presentations

The soft skills training will be provided by the various institutes that iCalibrator ties up with to set up these finishing schools. Students will be offered optional Analytical Reasoning classes too, which they can take if required. Students have to clear an aptitude test before they can enroll in the courses.

Placements

iCalibrator ties up with corporates like Wipro, MindTree and Sopra Group for interviewing and hiring students. Students who do well in the finishing schools will be referred to such companies for placements. iCalibrator also works with placement agencies that place IT professionals in India and abroad.
